A kind and down to earth family in Charleston, West Virginia is seeking a dedicated and experienced nanny to join their family to assist caring for their precious baby. As career-oriented first-time parents, their primary focus is providing the best care and development opportunities for their child. They are looking for someone who is passionate about engaging with infants, up-to-date on best practices, and committed to fostering their son’s growth and well-being. Ideally the position will start January 2, 2024, but they are slightly flexible for the right candidate. The schedule will be full-time with a guaranteed 40 hours per week. They are offering $25 gross per hour + paid vacation, paid sick time, and paid holidays! Both parents work in healthcare with varying schedules so the exact schedule will vary week to week. The nanny will be given the schedule well in advance so they can plan their life accordingly. This is not a typical 9-5 position and interested candidates should be comfortable working 12 hour shifts as needed.

The typical responsibilities will include providing attentive care and engagement, focusing on minimal screen time by planning enriching days, implementinging age appropriate activities and outings, fostering socialization by going to museums, parks, playdates, etc., incorporating ample outdoor time, encouraging basic skill development and independence, overseeing child laundry, tidying up after daily activities, and light child-related housekeeping such as cleaning dishes used during the day. 

Their ideal candidate is knowledgeable, mature, and has a calm demeanor. Someone who is a strong communicator and receptive to constructive feedback would be a great fit! DETAILS:
- Schedule: M-F, 40 hours per week. Exact schedule given in advance
- 1 child: 3 months old at start of position
- Start Date: January 2, 2024 (slightly flexible for the right candidate)
- Duties: Full charge childcare + basic nanny responsibilities within the household
- Pets: Please be comfortable with dogs! This family has 2 dogs - one is a senior lab mix who is very chill and the other is an energetic blue heeler with a tendency to jump, so keeping a watchful eye when around baby is a must! The energetic pup does go to doggy daycare a few times per week and nanny will only be responsible for letting dogs out into a fenced yard as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years Professional Nanny experience
- Experience with infants
- Safe and reliable vehicle to transport child (mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate provided)
- Up to date on vaccinations including Covid (including ongoing boosters), flu, and TDAP.
- Strong swimmer
- CPR/First Aid certified
- Non smoker
- Clean background and driving record
- Stellar references and letters of recommendation
- Able to commit 1 year

COMPENSATION:
- $25 gross per hour for 40 guaranteed hours per week
