Nanny Counsel is a business built by its Nannies.

Without amazing Nannies, Nanny Counsel would cease to exist. We recognize that we are here because of YOU. Because of that, we do not prioritize profit at the expense of our Nannies. Nanny Counsel is committed to advocating for both the Family AND the Nanny. We believe Families and Nannies are equally important, and do not prioritize one over the other.

 As true Nanny advocates, this is what we guarantee
when you are represented by our agency:

 
  • Nannies placed with a Nanny Counsel family receive unlimited, no charge support from Nanny Counsel for the duration of their employment.

  • We will be a part of the entire contract negotiation process.

  • We will go back and forth between you and the employer, until all parties agree and a work agreement is signed. 

  • We only represent Families who are willing to do things 100% legally. This includes:

    • Paying on the books 

    • Issuing the Nanny a W-2 each year

    • Paying hourly (not salary), 

    • Paying overtime, absolutely no banking hours.

  • We only represent Families who are willing to offer typical industry standards. For example: guaranteed hours, vacation time, sick days, mileage reimbursement, paying the going rate for the area, etc.

  • We vet Families just as thoroughly as we vet Nannies. This means we interview them and unless a Family has never hired a Nanny before, we speak with their past Nannies as reference.

  • We will not pressure you to take a job you do not want, nor will we hold that decision against you. Your happiness is more important to us than making a quick placement -- we do not prioritize profit over our nanny's best interests.

Our Coaching Sessions

As Nannies, we have to advocate for ourselves, which can often be very difficult to do on our own. Nanny Counsel offers targeted coaching sessions to help you through whatever you need assistance with – whether it’s how to negotiate a raise or how to create a professional nanny portfolio and take your career to the next level – Nanny Counsel is here to help!

Nanny Coaching Sessions: $75

Sessions are 60 minutes and are held either on the phone or via video chat with Owner and Founder, Brooke Weglarz. Here are some of the topics we can help with:

• Negotiating a work agreement
• Creating a professional resume & portfolio
• Nanny laws and industry standards
• Interview prep including questions you should ask parents
• Setting boundaries
• Establishing healthy communication
• Becoming a professional career nanny/Taking your nanny career to the next level
• Conflict resolution
• Negotiating a raise and/or other benefit
• Giving notice

*Coaching Session fee is due at time of booking

In the market for a new nanny job and interested in being represented by Nanny Counsel? Please review our minimum requirements and the documents we will ask for during our screening process:

  • Minimum of 3 Years of Recent Childcare Experience (At Least 2 Years Must be as a Professional Nanny in a Private Home)

  • High School Graduate (College Preferred)

  • Stellar Childcare References (Minimum of 3)

  • Employment History Verification (For All Positions Listed on Resume)

  • Professional Childcare Resume

  • Professional Cover Letter

  • Must be willing to make a minimum of a 1 year commitment to a family

  • Legal to Work in the U.S.

  • Clean Criminal Record

  • Clean Driving Record

  • CPR & First Aid Certified (or willing to get certified before hire)

  • Valid Driver's License (unless in a city where driving is not necessary -- in that case, must have Valid State ID)

  • Reliable, Insured Vehicle (unless in a city where where driving is not necessary)

  • 21 Years of Age or Older

  • Non-Smoker
