*POSITION FILLED* Loving Infant Nanny Needed For Nanny Share in East Nashville - $26-$28/hour!! - Job #902
[POSITION FILLED] Two families in East Nashville are in search of a full-time nanny for their infant boys who will be 9 months and 7 months upon the start date in January 2022. They need someone Monday through Friday, from 9am-5pm with 40 hours guaranteed. Both families live in East Nashville, about a five minute car ride from each other, and the share will be evenly split between the two homes. Family A describes themselves as a cross between baby-led and parent-led. They are very laid back and flexible. Family B is a bit more structured with their son’s eating/sleeping routine, and they have a certain way of doing things, so it’s important that interested candidates are able to follow through and meet expectations. With that said, Family A would be happy for the nanny to get their baby on the same schedule as Family B so that the day is smoother and the nanny can have much needed downtime during synchronized naps! Neither families are interested in micromanaging and while one house might be a little more structured than the other, the most important thing is finding a nanny who absolutely loves their children and making that the priority.
While at Family A’s home, both parents work from home in designated offices upstairs. Family B works both in the home and out of the home, and will split their time during the days the share is hosted in their home. If Family B is home, they have designated offices upstairs that they’ll work from. Both families want to set their nanny up to succeed and feel supported, so much so that they even read our work from home parents article and are taking the advice to heart! They understand work from home parents can be challenging for a nanny, especially in a share, so they have educated themselves on what they can do to create a positive workplace environment for their nanny. Their goal is to give their nanny the space and autonomy to do their job, and to also make the share as seamless and communicative as possible for everyone involved.
Their ideal candidate is a career nanny who is knowledgeable with developmental milestones and proactively plans enriching days for the babies. A nanny who understands basic nutrition and is willing to plan simple, but wholesome meals for the kids (once eating solids), would be ideal! They envision their nanny using their expertise to structure the days by incorporating a balance of planned activities, outdoor play, and independent free play. Both families lean toward a respectful, connected approach to raising their children. They believe in letting kids be kids, letting them feel their emotions, and helping them practice mindfulness. As the kids get older and discipline is necessary, they like the idea of natural and logical consequences, but are still learning and exploring what will work best as their kids reach toddlerhood.
The nanny’s primary responsibility will be unconditionally loving the babies and maintaining a consistent routine for them. Beyond that, some basic nanny responsibilities will be expected as time allows such as baby laundry, taking out diaper trash, keeping changing station stocked, organizing clothes/toys, cleaning the highchair, loading/unloading the dishwasher, tidying child areas, etc. Since both families are first time parents, they welcome a nanny’s input and guidance, however, they do want someone who will be respectful of them as parents and support them if they make a firm decision. Both families are Covid vaccinated and interested candidates must be fully vaccinated, including an annual flu shot. Family A is immunocompromised, so it’s important that their nanny follow CDC guidelines regarding masking while out in public.
