*POSITION FILLED* Proactive & Positive Family Assistant Needed in Franklin - $30-$35+ per hour – Job #392
A family in Franklin is looking for a warm, friendly, energetic, and positive Nanny/Family Assistant to help care for their toddler and overall household. The schedule will be part-time, 3 days per week. They are flexible on the exact days and are open to whatever days work best for the nanny they hire. The schedule will typically be 9am-5pm, and they are willing to guarantee 24-30 hours per week depending on what the right candidate needs. This role is truly a blend of providing full-charge childcare and then helping with family assistant tasks when childcare is not needed. Mom works from home and has a lot of flexibility with her job. She is very hands-on and loves to spend time with her child! Interested candidates must be comfortable working alongside mom, tag-teaming, and have a strong ability to know when to step in and step out. The days will be very fluid – sometimes the nanny will be providing childcare and taking the child on an outing while other times mom will be taking the child on an outing and the nanny will be running errands, helping with laundry, meal prepping, etc. They are very excited to find someone who is experienced, knowledgeable, mature, nurturing, and proactive. As first-time parents, they welcome gentle guidance and suggestions and are really looking for someone who is very confident within their role. They are offering $30-$35+ gross per hour, depending on experience + paid vacation, paid sick days, and paid holidays. They are searching for someone truly great and are happy to pay for professional-level care and service!
The typical job responsibilities will range from complete childcare, grocery shopping, meal planning, meal prep (or fully preparing meals if the candidate enjoys cooking and is comfortable in the kitchen), loading/unloading the dishwasher, laundry, researching child activities, taking the child on outings and coming up with fun activities, taking the dog for walks, organization projects such as the pantry, fridge, etc., helping with returns, and more. They have a regular housekeeper, so no deep cleaning is involved! Mom loves to have fun and would really enjoy someone who is friendly and brings good energy. They describe their daughter as very happy, and it’s important to them that the person they hire is positive and optimistic. Their ideal candidate takes initiative and is the type of person who once they are told what the expectations are, can really take ownership of their role and meet those expectations. They are not the type of parents to micromanage, so their hope is to find someone who is able to be self-directed once everything is laid out.
They describe their parenting style as enforcing necessary boundaries and rules, but in a gentle and connected way. They believe in a mixture of planned activities and outings, while also allowing time for free independent play. They limit screen time and are looking for a nanny who will proactively plan enriching days and creatively come up with various activities/outings that promote learning and growth. They believe in fostering age-appropriate life skills and would like a nanny who will help them implement this. In sum, they say they are very reasonable and balanced with everything. They do travel quite a bit and would love to bring their nanny with them if the nanny is open to it. They have plans to expand their family and are looking for someone to grow with them for years to come!
